Boom It Up is the latest iPhone release from Gamevil, which has earned a great reputation and fanbase thanks to titles like Zenonia and Hybrid. Zenonia is considered by many to still be the best RPG on the app store, and Hybrid, which is a fast paced action title with RPG elements, was also very well recieved. Boom It Up is a completely different title, but certainly maintains Gamevils solid reputation among iPhone gamers.

Boom It Up is one of those games that is easy to pick up and play, but extremely difficult to master. The premise in the game is simple. You start out by blasting a cannonball up into a crazy obstacle course of sorts containing mini flying cannons, trampolines, giant pinball springs and levers, and more. Using the course, which is randomized  each playthrough, your goal is to “boom” your cannon ball as high as possible. The course starts out nice and easy, but in just a few short minutes you find the course moving faster requiring increasingly sharp reflexes.

Early on there were some complaints over the framerate, however with a recent update I can happily report that that stability is greatly improved and is no longer a noticable issue. The Gamevil Live online leaderboards are a very nice touch, and adds plenty of replayability.
