Game of the Week: Hell Kid: Hook & Jump

Hell Kid is a fast paced reaction game that has you jumping and swinging your way through hell, collecting human souls along the way. Think of Canabalt mixed with the swinging mechanic in Hook Champ and you will start to get an idea of what to expect from Hell Kid. The simple and fast-paced gameplay is perfect for the platform and highly polished. I was also very pleased to find the release came packed with features right out of the gate including twitter and facebook integration, online leaderboards, achievements, and multiple difficulty levels.

The controls are simple and effective. Simply tap anywhere on the screen once to jump and twice to release Hell Kid’s grappling arm. Release your touch while grappling to release Hell Kid’s grip. As you run through the levels you need to grab as many souls as possible to boost your score. Overall Hell Kid is a great pick up and play title that is bound to keep you entertained for a long time. I can admit that Hell Kid has been my go-to game all week, putting a nice dent in my own free time.

Hell Kid: Hook and Jump is currently available at an introductory rate of just $0.99 and is expected to go up to $2.99 when the sale ends. Either way, this is a highly polished title that comes packed with great features and is certainly worth the asking price. Check it out! – Robert

I bought this game! It’s really addicting.
The achievements could be Openfeint/Plus+/Agon/Crystal enabled! That would be awesome!
